One of the biggest events of the season: Winter Wonderland happens on Dec. 12, from 5-9 p.m., in the Sunken Gardens and downtown.

  • Over 70 tons of snow are brought in, creating giant snow piles and a huge snow slide.
  • There’s something for everyone: bounce houses, obstacle courses, jousting, bungee jumps, and even a kiddie train.
  • Santa and his elves make an appearance, and there are more than 50 food and craft vendors sprinkled throughout.
  • Expect musical performances, dance, and community entertainment centered around City Hall too.

This is where Atascadero leans fully into “winter magic,” unexpected for our mild Central Coast — but all the more magical because of it.
