Memorial Day Ceremony

The Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation will be hosting the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Faces of Freedom Memorial. 

The ceremony will begin at 11 am, and there will be limited seating, so you are encouraged to bring your own chair.   

Expect the ever popular flyover by the Estrella Warbird planes, the presenting of the colors accompanied by the much appreciated Pipes & Drum Core all through the Welcome Home Military Flag Line.  The speaker this year will be led by Dick Mason along with the singing of the National Anthem, covering the event in prayer, honoring our Gold Star Families, having a wreath presented in memory of a local veteran and the playing of TAPS. The program is expected to last one hour. 

The Kiwanis will be hosting a BBQ following the event and many veteran organizations will be on site with information about veteran services and/or programs. 

 The Faces of Freedom Memorial is located at the corner of HWY 41/Morro Road and Portola.
